A recent message from Marcelo, a member of the 07-08 Brazilian Group Study Exchange team about the effects of the exchange on his professional and personal life after returning to his homeland:
"...Since I returned to Brazil I made some important changes of my business life. I´m not working in a foundry anymore. As I have some knowledge in the foundry´s process, I decided to work for myself, so I rented a place and work with my family (my father and my brother). It´s a new challenge of my life.
...we intend to get married next year, probabily next September...we intend to pass our honeymoon in US with my new American friends. ...This experience that I passed was wonderful because I had the opportunity to know a little bit about your economy, culture, food and especially the American life, day by day."
-Marcelo
"...Last July, happened a Rotaract´Clubs conference of District 4560 of Rotary International, and my Club, Rotaract Club Itaúna Cidade Universitária, and we received a award of the Best project of Rotary Foundation, because I presented the project of GSE (please see photos attached), when I show the beneficts to be a member of GSE team."

The Group Study Exchange (GSE) program of The Rotary Foundation is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 and in the early years of their professional lives. The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits between paired areas in different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country's institutions and ways of life, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.
For each team member, The Rotary Foundation provides the most economical round-trip air ticket between the home and host countries. Local Rotarians in the host area provide for meals, lodging, and group travel within their district.
