| A message from the District Governor |

As we begin a new Rotary year we have a great deal of work ahead of us in 2008-2009. Thirty thousand children age five and younger die everyday around the world from preventable causes including poor nutrition, lack of clean water, adequate medical care and education.
2008-2009 Rotary International President D.K. Lee has asked that this year we continue our focus to improve Health, Hunger, Education and Clean Water specifically to help improve the mortality rate for children five years of age and younger.
There are many ways in which we can accomplish this goal. I have asked all Presidents in District 7930 to lead their clubs in exploring the vast opportunities available to us in partnering with a club or clubs in our district or somewhere in the world to identify and complete worthy projects that will help accomplish this goal. Once a project is identified, I have asked that these clubs apply for District Matching Grants through our Foundation Grants Committee and take advantage of the District Designated Funds (DDF) that the district has to award in 2008-2009 as a result of the generous Annual Giving from our Rotarians in 2005-2006.
As I make my Official Governors Visit to your club in the near future, I look forward to meeting you and working with all Rotarian’s in the Forty Seven Clubs that make up District 7930 in 2008-2009 as we “MAKE DREAMS REAL”!
Yours in Rotary Service!
Tom
